Employment of a cellulosic polymer as carrier of diethylamine salicylate in topical formulations

چکیده
Adsorption–desorption of diethylamine salicylate on latex particles have been studied. Time, pH, concentration and electrokinetic characteristics of the active principle at which maximum absorption occurred were determined. Desorption of the drug from latex polymer particles was studied in three different vehicles. The findings suggest that solubility of diethylamine salicylate is the main factor affecting release of the drug from the excipients tested. 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.

Optimization of Ibuprofen Delivery through Rat Skin from Traditional and Novel Nanoemulsion Formulations
The topical delivery of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) such as Ibuprofen has been explored as a potential method of avoiding the first pass effects and the gastric irritation, which may occur when used orally. Ibuprofen is formulated into many topical preparations to reduce the adverse effects and simultaneously avoid the hepatic first-pass metabolism as well. However, it i...

متن کاملEffect of cellulosic polymer on the release of salicylates in topical formulations
In this work, the effect of cellulosic polymer and chemical structure of salicylic acid and its various esters on their release has been analysed. The release of different drugs in distinct types of vehicles, cetyl excipient, polyethylene glycol and Carbopol gel was also studied. 2001 Published by Elsevier Science B.V.
متن کاملDifferentiated in vivo skin penetration of salicylic compounds in hairless rats measured by cutaneous microdialysis.
The purpose was to investigate the in vivo skin penetration of four 14C-salicylic compounds using microdialysis and to relate dermal concentrations to structural features. Furthermore, to compare two in vivo retrodialysis recovery methods for estimation of true unbound extracellular concentrations. Microdialysis probes were inserted in the dermis of hairless rats. Equimolal 14C-salicylic formul...
متن کاملNanoemulsions: colloidal topical delivery systems for antiacne agents- A Mini-Review
One of the common chronic inflammatory skin diseases is Acne Vulgaris that affects up to 80% of a teen-age population. The progress of acne lesions is due to colonization of Propionibacterium acnes (P .acnes) in hair follicles. Treatment of acne includes topical or systemic therapy or combination therapy, with a tendency to perform topical therapy in mild to moderate acne. Nanoemulsions, small ...
